Pt: 14 – Time for Yourself
You can find yourself just going with the momentum, with the children's body clocks and your spouse’s body clock uppermost in your mind. Then all of a sudden your own body clock is just crying out for some attention in full acknowledgement that you cannot keep going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Time for prayer, acts of worship, and relaxation seem to be less rejuvenating as you rush from one task to another and to another and another... More >>> |

Pt. 4 Excellence in Islamic Education - Seeking Knowledge, Thinking, and Active Learning
A vision of a truly Islamic education sees the best schools as “thinking schools” and “active learning environments” which uphold the sacred trust to seek and acquire knowledge, and that through the quality of their education they dispense with the false idea that “faith” is somehow in opposition to “reason,” and that the knowledge attained through divine revelation is somehow in opposition to acquired human knowledge... The Bride Price: Dowry Abuse
We usually use the word gift for something that we give voluntarily to a person we like. A gift is something that strengthens the bond of friendship between two people. Dowry, which is usually defined as a “gift” given along with the bride by a bride’s family to the bridegroom, is used as a tool of coercion and greed in societies like India. The bride’s family must give this “gift” or the marriage will not take place. Always the price of the dowry is set higher than the bride’s family can afford, and, sadly, this results in the bride becoming a burden on her family... More >>> |

Male Self-Image and Self Development (Live Dialogue)
Men's issues are less commonly explored amongst Muslim men on a personal level. Today, men have a new task in preparing themselves for the third millennium, and that is to develop a greater self-understanding. We've learned that the acquisition of high self esteem is about unconditional love, validation, affirmation and empowerment; but what if we have learnt otherwise? Greater understanding is necessary in order that men should move ahead into the Third Millennium with confidence, and fulfill their roles as leaders, both in the family and in our society's spiritual and cultural life, always recognizing the needs, aspirations and contribution of women, their partners in life... Solidarité, dons, parrainage... |
 |
Irak, Palestine, Tchétchénie, Soudan, Albanie, Bangladesh, Inde, ...
